Ralph Samuelson: The Father of Waterskiing. Debut Film Screening and Q&A with filmmaker Ben Threinen. All proceeds to benefit the Lake City Historical Society. With a homemade pair of skis and daredevil determination, Ralph Samuelson made history on Lake Pepin. Ralph grew up right here in Lake City and invented a sport that is enjoyed worldwide. You’ll meet him in this 33-minute documentary film based on Gregor Zeimer’s book A Daredevil & Two Boards. Presented by the Lake City Historical Society in partnership with the Lake City Public Library in celebration of the We are Water MN exhibit.
