– Veterans Empowered Seven Solemn Bells Ceremony
To be held at two locations 4th and 5th July — Saturday and Sunday
• Wild Wings – Saturday July 4th
– Ceremony Starts at 1100
o Assemble at 1030 by the flag at Wild Wings Plaza
• Lake City Golf Club – Sunday July 5th
– Ceremony Starts at 0900
o Assemble at 0830 in front of Lake City Golf Club
o Free pancake breakfast 0730-1100
o Free BBQ lunch Noon to 4pm
Sequence of Ceremonies Honoring All Veterans (both locations):
• New Lake City Ford Vehicle and M35A2 Armored Truck with Machine
Gun Mount park facing each other
• Honor Bell positioned between the two trucks
• John Gifford plays "Amazing Grace" on bagpipes as people assemble
• Lake City Honor Guard assembles in front of Bell facing guests
• BelieVet Service Dogs/Handlers & Veterans Empowered members in
Blue Shirts line up behind Honor Guard
• Honor Guard Flag Raising Ceremony
• Barbara Milhelm, owner of Wild Wings, welcoming remarks, introduce
Mayor Brian Quinn, Dr. Steve Lansing, and Terry Throndson President
Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial in Rochester
• Dr Steve reads Seven Solemn Bells as Terry tolls the bell; concluding
remarks honor all Veterans, Gold Star families
• Honor Guard fires traditional Three-Volley Salute on Order from Dr.
Steve after Seventh Bell tolls
• John Gifford plays "Amazing Grace" on bagpipes; people depart to eat.
