Name: Energy & Sustainability Forum
Date: April 21, 2010
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM CDT
Event Description:
A Community Forum, hosted by Citizens for Energy Awareness, will focus on what other area communities are doing to address long-term energy issues, and how their efforts might apply to Lake City.

George Kinney, Northfield Environmental Quality Commission, and Kris Vohs, Northfield City Council member, will discuss Northfield's energy sustainability plan and other actions their community is taking to become more sustainable and energy efficient in the face of increasing costs and energy challenges. Brian Peterson, Red Wing City Planner, will discuss efforts underway in Red Wing to address environmental and energy concerns.

Following the presentations, Citizens for Energy Awareness members will facilitate a community discussion to increase citizen awareness of energy issues and identify steps that might be taken in Lake City to become better prepared for higher energy costs.

This special event will also feature other resources and door prizes.

Citizens for Energy Awareness (CEA) is a group of volunteers working to find ways that the City of Lake City and its citizens can become a positive force toward creating a brighter future.
